ŽOS Trnava, a.s. is the largest railway cars repair workshop in Central Europe. Company manufactures new freight railway cars, carries out revision repairs on freight cars and passenger coaches, their upgrades, modifications, refurbishment of bogies, brake components, pulling and buffing gear, manufactures new and make refurbishment of wheel-sets. Production programm of the company includes also welded constructions of freight wagons, passenger coaches, trams and welded parts for general use.
Company systematically develops activities in area of engineering production, manufacturing of welded assemblies, CNC machining for different types of industry. We have certified quality management system ISO 9001:2008, environment protection management system ISO 14001:2004, certification for welding DIN 18800-7, DIN EN 15085-2, DIN 15018, DIN 4112, DIN 4132, DIN 22261, qualification of L1 a Q1 supplier for DB, qualification for TSI wheel-sets manufacturing according UIC 832V, EN 13260 and BN 918 274 for DB, certified qualification for revisions and repairs of ZSSK, ČD, ÖBB, VPI. Company continuously adopts to the need of the customers and of the market, upgrades production capacities, invests into new production means, systems and technologies.
To the ŽOS Trnava Group belongs also company ŽOS Zvolen, a.s. This company carries out repairs, refurbishment and upgrades of locomotives.
ŽOS Trnava, a. s. is a modern company building its future on rich history, that goes back to the fi rst repair shop of railway wagons in Slovak territory. It was in Trnava, where already in August 1925 employees of company called Vozovka carried out their first revision on the car Nr.CRN 111 885. Professional growth accompanied the upswing and the original 63 employees workshop grew to the largest repair workshop in Central Europe. In October 1994 the joint stock company ŽOS Trnava, a. s. was established. Privatisation process was completed in 1995 through sale of majority share to TOSs Comp. Ltd. Trnava (TOSs spol. s.r.o. Trnava).
Gradually, by natural growth, modernisation and development a technically advanced, viable company which masters complex technological facilities was built. The facilities enable performance of all kinds of repairs and inspections of freight cars, coaches and their subassemblies. ŽOS Trnava, a.s. manufactures new freight wagons, carries out repairs, modernisation and upgrading of rolling stock to satisfy needs of ZSSK Cargo, JSC, Railway Company Slovakia, JSC, as well as the needs of local and foreign private wagon owners. Engineering parts production has modern capacities for manufacturing of engineering and welded components and their machining on computer controlled (CNC) machines.
